Steve Frye Obituary

Steven William Frye of Camarillo, California passed away at home on February 18, 2024, following a nine-year battle against cancer. Steve was born on April 28, 1945 in San Francisco, California, son of Jacqueline Folsom and Roy Frye.

Always independent and hardworking, Steve joined the U. S. Army at age 17, soon after graduating from Granada Hills High School in Los Angeles. After serving in Korea and completing his service to the Army, Steve returned home and continued his career of service when he joined the Los Angeles Police Department. He earned the rank of Sergeant and retired after 20 years in 1987.

After hanging up his handcuffs, Steve married Suzanne Bunnell of Newbury Park, California in 1988. Steve and Suzie would go on to spend 35 years devoted to each other. Together, they ran their business, Pacific Protection Services, until their retirement in 2020. In their free time, they enjoyed golfing and socializing with their friends in the Spanish Hills community. Steve was a gifted golfer, admired and respected by his friends and associates for his integrity, generosity and intelligence.

He was fond of his friends and family, as well as his dogs. Among his other favorite things in life were the LA Dodgers, reading, history, steak dinners and traveling. His favorite place to visit was Maui.

Steve is survived by his wife Suzie, brother Kenny and David, and sisters Jane and Susan. He was predeceased by his mother, father, son Stevie and brother Fred.
